Athletistic / Figure skating. The Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) has issued a statement regarding the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) verdict in the case of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva. She was banned for four years for doping.

Recall that due to disqualification, Russian athletes were deprived of gold in the team championship of the Olympic Games in Beijing (China). The Russians now occupy 3rd place.

“The Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKR) categorically disagrees with the sanction of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding the disqualification for four years of Kamila Valieva, who, being a protected person, was in reality equated to an adult athlete , as well as the decision of the International Skating Union (ISU) to deprive Russian athletes of gold medals in the team figure skating competitions at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

Rodnina – about depriving Russia of gold in the team championship: “Nothing surprising”

For our part, we declare that the FFKR has taken and will take all necessary measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of our team and of each athlete individually, including before the courts. The interests of our skaters have always been and remain the top priority of the federation,” the press release said.
