Athletistic/Figure skating. Honored coach of Russia Eteri Tutberidze expressed a desire to find out the reasons for the discovery of a banned substance in the body of figure skater Kamila Valieva.

“For the past two years, I have refrained from commenting on the doping scandal surrounding Kamila Valieva at the Russian Championships in 2021. Despite the illegal and constant flow of indignation and accusations against me, it was strictly forbidden to our team to speak out or make assessments. In this regard, in order not to complicate the investigation, I was probably very keen to ensure that this situation was thoroughly investigated and that I I don’t end up with questions, even if the investigation reveals oversights, errors or crimes about someone else’s role.

I have worked for many years, sometimes even without days off or vacation, to achieve results for my athletes. Like no one else, it is important to me to find out what happened to Camila and how the banned substance entered her system. All my players have always competed cleanly and I am a believer in fair sport.

Our athletes have been competing internationally since 2010, and it is impossible to count the number of successful doping tests during this time. The samples have always been clean and I hope this continues to be the case in the future. We have always taught and explained to our athletes and their parents how important it is to be careful when taking medications for even common colds, and to be careful and not trust anyone. Despite the two years that have passed since the incident, it has not been possible to understand the origin of the banned drug and many questions remain unanswered, while accusations continue to be thrown at us from all sides.” , wrote Tutberidze on the social network.
