Russian national diving team coach Pavel Muyakin told that accusations of sexual harassment against athlete Maria Bruenok are unfounded.
Earlier, 19-year-old Bruenok told Metaratings that she was harassed by 61-year-old Muyakin. According to the athlete, Muyakin called her to her room to discuss the training process and kissed her there.
“I was indeed suspended, but I have already returned to work. We only had one contact with Bruenok, the one who works, and not as she presents him. I have a lot of experience in coaching, I am 61 years old. And then there is this accusation, which is based on nothing. Of course, I refute it. Yesterday I was in Saratov, I tried to talk to her, to clarify why she was doing all this, but I could not properly discuss it with her, Muyakin told .
Bruenok is a member of the Russian diving team, winner of the Yekaterinburg International University Sports Festival and medalist of the Russian Championship.
