Athletistic/ Figure skating. On Monday, January 29, the Court of Arbitration for Sport issued a decision in the case of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva. The CAS found the athlete guilty of using banned substances and sentenced her to a four-year disqualification from December 2021. WADA head Olivier Niggli spoke about this.

– At the end of the hearing, the (legal) team had failed the athlete by not being able to prove the source of the substance at all, they had not shown anything credible about the source of the substance. The result is that in the absence of any evidence of how the substance entered the athlete’s body, she received the maximum punishment,” Niggli said on The Sports Ambassador.
