Athletistic / Figure skating. Tatiana Tarasova, honored figure skating coach of the USSR, expressed confidence in the innocence of figure skater Kamila Valieva. Previously, the athlete was suspended for four years for violating anti-doping rules.

Valieva’s case was heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). After the verdict, coach Eteri Tutberidze said that anti-doping services had not established the origin of the banned drug during the skater’s doping test.

Tarasova said that if she were Tutberidze, she would have admitted her guilt in the Valieva case.

“The investigation into Valieva’s case must be completed. This is a matter of national importance. We all brought the girl to this point and ruined her life. Of course, Kamila did not take drugs. It’s an accident, so we have to understand it,” Tarasova is quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
