Athletistic/ Figure skating. Valieva’s doping case has finally come to an end. The investigation lasted two years and here is the verdict: the skater was disqualified for four years.

Switzerland’s Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled that Valieva had violated anti-doping rules. The disqualification countdown begins on December 25, 2021. All of the athlete’s results from that date, including at the 2022 Olympic Games, have been voided.

Valieva tested positive for trimetazidine in December 2021 at the Russian Championship. This became known after the team tournament of the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, in which the Russian team won gold medals.

The press writes that Valieva’s defense was based on the fact that doping entered her body through her grandfather’s dessert. Furthermore, the grandfather is not related to Kamila. Valieva’s lawyers said the man took Kamila to training and sometimes prepared food for her. He also suffers from heart disease and purchased Preductal without a prescription, which contains trimetazidine.

Kamila’s defenders reported that Soloviev sometimes crushed these tablets at home in the kitchen – it was difficult for him to swallow them entirely. This is how trimetazidine could enter Valieva’s body. But the CAS obviously did not believe this version, because no proof was provided other than verbal proof: no recipes, no videos of the house.

Here is how American social networks reacted to the CAS verdict in the Valieva case:

Sauron:
– I’m really sorry for this young athlete. I believe she is completely innocent. She didn’t have the money, resources, knowledge, etc. to decide for herself to use these drugs, but her coaches, her parents and the state have everything to achieve this.

Masd:
– No one wants to lose a medal by passing up someone who was caught cheating. Everyone wants the rules to be followed accurately and in a timely manner.

Princess:
– This is a matter for adults. She and her teammates do what they are told and take what they are given. It’s a shame that countries like Russia stoop to this level, because these kids are really talented. They have worked almost their entire lives to succeed.

Libby:
“She was only 15 and she did what she was told. For what? Because there are 50 or more girls who will do the same to take his place.

Danielle:
“And the sad thing is she would have won without it, it’s her coaches who listen to the officials who are to blame.”

Charles:
– How many times will Russian athletes have to be arrested for doping before the Olympic Committee and other international sports organizations finally say enough is enough and simply ban Russia from participating in all international competitions.

Aaron:
– Unfortunately, many other countries escape fraud because the governing organizations are also corrupt. And the question is not so much whether there was fraud, but rather who is accused.

Ginger:
– China also cheated by falsifying the ages of its gymnasts. Where have the good and fair competitions gone?

Eric:
– This is another example in a never-ending list of reasons why Russian athletes should be denied participation in international competitions. They systematically resort to doping and do everything they can to give victory to the Russian leaders. This is quite obvious, as has already been proven many times.

K J :
– In all countries, there are athletes who take drugs. The important question is whether the athletes did it themselves or whether it was state sponsored.

MeanMommieX:
– The medals are the least. The real concern should be the health consequences of this damn drug.

Jessie:
– This did not happen out of nowhere and the Russian coaches knew it. Regardless…she still deserves to be disqualified. And the athletes who won the competition fairly deserve to have their medals presented in front of a crowd of supporters with the flags of their country…

Sorting:
– The IOC should be able to control athletes before competitions. And not after the medal ceremony. Cheating is completely unacceptable on the world stage.

Catch:
– I’m sorry for this young girl. She had to work so hard and she was forced to put up with this bullshit. They ruined his career.

ChicoJimbo:
“I have no doubt that she was and still is the best figure skater on the planet, and her short program at these Olympics was the best in the history of the sport. Those who gave him pills should be in prison.

Valieva could now return to competition in December 2025, approximately two months before the start of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy. Although at present Russian figure skaters are suspended from international competitions.
