Former Manchester United and England midfielder Lingard will move to Seoul from South Korea

The player will enter into a contract according to the “2+1” scheme

Former midfielder for a number of English clubs and the England national team Jesse Lingard will go to FC Seoul from South Korea.

The 31-year-old midfielder agreed on a two-year contract with an option to extend for another season. An official announcement about the transfer is expected soon.

Lingard is known for his performances for Manchester United – 35 goals and 21 assists in 232 matches over eight (intermittent) years. The wide attacking midfielder has left Nottingham Forest without a club since the summer of 2023.

In the fall, Jesse stayed in shape with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittifaq. However, the team coached by Steven Gerrard did not have the opportunity to sign the ex-Manchester United footballer due to the exhausted quota for foreign players.

French Lille, as well as clubs from Saudi Arabia and MLS, were interested in Lingard’s services. In addition, the winger’s services were offered to Barcelona.

Seoul took first place in the Knockout Group of the South Korean Top Football Division last year.
