McGirt: Fury needs to use his height in fight with Usyk

According to the coach, successful work of Tyson’s size will be enough to win

Famous American trainer Buddy McGirt explained why he considers the WBC champion Tyson Fury favorite in the upcoming fight with the Ukrainian champion and holder of the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles Alexander Usik.

“I think Fury is very good at using his height and size to his advantage. That’s all he needs to do to win this fight.”

The Usyk-Fury fight will officially take place on February 17. The title of absolute heavyweight champion will be at stake. The event will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The special guest of the event will be Lennox Lewis.

The undercard of the Usyk-Fury fight will feature former IBF world cruiserweight champion Jay Opetaya, 19-year-old Moses Ithauma and IBF world super featherweight champion Joe Cordina.

Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.

Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
