On Monday, the CAS suspended Valieva for four years for violating anti-doping rules. In its statement, the court noted that Valieva was unable to provide convincing evidence demonstrating that the violation was unintentional. The 17-year-old athlete’s suspension period begins on December 25, 2021 and his results have been canceled since that date. The CAS statement states that an arbitration award is subject to confidentiality review, meaning that the parties may request that the award or certain information contained therein remain confidential.
Previously, the CAS press service told that the full text of the decision in the Valieva case could be published by the end of next week.
The CAS decision led to a review of the results of the team figure skating tournament at the 2022 Olympics, where the Russian team won.
