Ukrainian athletes entered the TOP-3 medal standings of the tournament with historic results.
In Birmingham (Alabama, USA), the 2022 World Games ended, in which the Ukrainian team participated.
On the tenth day of competition, which was the last, our team won six medals in two sports, including three awards of the highest standard.
A successful medal draw was the sport – Muay Thai, in which the Ukrainians won five awards.
For the second time, the World Games champion in the weight category up to 63.5 kg became Igor Lyubchenko, who won the final against an athlete from Thailand in additional indicators. He also confirmed his championship title Oleg Primachev, which is again the best in the category up to 91 kg. In the final, he won by a score.
Muay Thai has also won its own awards Alexander Efimenko at Vladislav Nikitas. Alexander won silver in the weight category up to 71 kg, and Nikitas won bronze in the weight category up to 57 kg.
For women in Muay Thai, the historical medal was won by Anastasia Kulinich. The girl won the competition in the weight up to 48 kg, which brought to Ukraine the first award in this sport among women.
Ukraine was also not left without medals in team competitions. Ukraine for the fourth time climbed the podium in sports acrobatics. group of men Stanislav Kukuruz, Yuri Savka, Yuri Push and Taras Yarush won bronze. This award is the first for Ukraine in this discipline since 2013.
Thus, Ukraine took the final third place in the medal standings of the 2022 World Games. Our athletes have 45 medals (16 gold, 12 silver and 17 bronze), which is a record for Ukraine.
