According to , the International Skating Union (ISU) has fallen behind schedule in appointing referees, technical specialists and technical controllers for stages of the Junior Grand Prix Figure Skating Series, which begins in August.
For the moment, the referees have only received an appointment for the first stage, which will be held in Courchevel from August 24 to 27, while there is still no appointment for the second (31 August – September 3, Ostrava) and the following stages. Previously, the appointment of such specialists for all Junior Grand Prix took place at the end of June-beginning of July, in mid-July referees working for adult Grand Prix received nominations, and a week later those who will serve the ISU Championships .
“There should be no objective reason for such a delay – the Junior Grand Prix stages have been approved, there is no problem with them,” one of the referees told . — We are afraid that due to the delay it will be difficult to buy tickets. Now moving between countries is not as easy as before.
The appointment of referees, technical specialists and technical controllers is made directly by the ISU, the members of the jury are appointed by the national federations. According to , the full list of referees selected to work at the Grand Prix (including substitutes) was formed and approved in May.
