Athletistic / Hockey. International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) President Luc Tardif shared his opinion on the NHL’s decision to release its players for the 2026 and 2030 Olympic Games.
“This decision represents a turning point for the entire world of hockey and marks a great return of NHL players to the Olympic Games.
The IIHF has succeeded in bringing all stakeholders to the table so that we can find a long-term sustainable consensus. This is at the heart of what we intend to do as leading sporting organisations. As the largest supporter of hockey, the IIHF is delighted and encouraged by this unprecedented agreement.
We look forward to witnessing the best hockey at the next Games in Italy in 2026 and at the Olympic Games in 2030,” the IIHF press service quotes Tardif.
The last time NHL players participated was the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi.
