Winner of the Russian Grand Prix stage, figure skater Matvey Vetlugine told that for the Russian Challenge tournament he wanted to create a program that contrasted with last year’s humor.
The show program tournament will take place at the Yubileiny Sports Palace in St. Petersburg on March 9. At last year’s tournament, Vetlugin presented a program with a parody of Alina Zagitova, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, Evgeni Plushenko and Alexei Yagudin. The skater took 21st place among 24 participants.
— I am determined to participate in the show program tournament. Our entire team is waiting for the regulations and number requirements. On this basis, we will prepare. Personally, I want to stage a dramatic number. A year ago, there was humor, but now it’s interesting to offer something diametrically opposed. So that the viewer is inspired and cries because of his impressions, ”Matvey told the correspondent.
On Friday, Vetlugin organized a free master class for everyone on an open ice rink in St. Petersburg as part of the “Mishina’s Cap” project.
