Bruenok on the need to consult a psychologist after a story of harassment: “You have to find a good person”

Russian diver Maria Bruenok says she needs to resolve the situation with a psychologist after making allegations of harassment by a coach.

Earlier, 19-year-old Bruenok told Metaratings.ru that she was sexually harassed by Muyakin. The 61-year-old specialist invited Bruenok to his room, where he wanted to discuss the athlete’s training process, and then kissed her. The Russian Diving Federation told it had created a commission to conduct an independent investigation; Muyakin called Bruenok’s accusations unfounded.

— Do you want to see a psychologist?

— I thought about it, it takes time. And you have to find a good person. But it is a situation that must be resolved.

— Will you be able to work peacefully as a team after all this?

“I think I’m going to take a step back now and study more at home, that’s where I get my education.”

—Are they calling you to training camp?

— They call me to Krugloye, but I don’t go there often; before certain competitions I try to do it. I think I’ll stay away from that for now,” Bruenok told .
