Russian figure skater Vladislav Dikidji on the Telegram channel he told the details of the attack in the St. Petersburg metro.
On Friday, Dikiji, 19, said he was attacked in the metro. An unknown person threatened the athlete with an object similar to a knife. On Saturday, the skater’s coach, Oleg Tataurov, told that police had arrested the attacker. A criminal case was opened against the man.
— Generally, I went about my business in the metro. The same man was sitting across from me. I was wearing headphones, glued to my phone, and had a huge backpack on my lap. At one point, the backpack is pulled sharply in the opposite direction. I thought they wanted to steal it, so I pulled the backpack towards me and looked at the same man in confusion.
Since I’m not a conflicted person, I didn’t bother to figure it out and turned my attention back to the phone. Then this man gave me a pretty nasty kick in the knee. Then I took off my headphones and asked him, “Grandpa, are you okay?” I couldn’t understand his response because I couldn’t hear him well. I decided it was better to continue ignoring, so as not to bring the situation to a conflict. As I approached the station where I was supposed to get off, this man appeared in front of me. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw his hands approach my neck. In my right hand I managed to see a shiny object, very similar to a knife…
All actions took place as quickly as possible, in a fraction of a second. Seeing the shiny object that was in my hands, I reacted with lightning speed and pushed the man with my foot, stood up abruptly from my seat and, without turning my back on him, I quickly started backing towards the doors. To which I received a threat: “Get out of the car or I’ll stab you.” » At that moment the doors opened and I came out. So, I went looking for metro employees or police officers.
The adrenaline rush was out of this world. What exactly this man wanted from me, I don’t know. But I did absolutely nothing to cause them to attack me with this. I haven’t been rude to anyone, I haven’t been rude to anyone, I haven’t been in conflict with anyone. This man’s actions came as a shock to me.
I decided that I couldn’t leave everything like that, because in my place there could be another person or even a child who could be in danger. Thank you all for your support. Be careful,” Dikiji wrote.
Dikidzhi is a silver medalist of the Russian Championship, winner of two stages of the Russian Grand Prix.
