– I really have a lot of points, more than at the World Championships. There, I would have won with such a sum, but, on the other hand, who knows how it would have happened there. I’m just glad everything went well – the best jump and the best point total. There are always gaps, a jump was a bit blurry, but basically it was stable. Probably one of my best attempts. In general, really satisfied.
Are you from Penza?
I was born and lived here until I was 16. In August, it will be five years that I live in Moscow. We decided on this for a long time with our parents and finally moved – new opportunities, career development.
– Now sit on the Round for a long time. Don’t get tired?
– The base is great, but in the same place, in any case, it is difficult to sit still for a long time. As chic as it is.
– How do you relax after training?
– I go for a walk, go to the cinema, to the park, I meet friends. I’m not bored in Moscow.
Are video games okay?
– Before – yes, I was playing. Now, sometimes I want such a desire to appear, but it doesn’t even shoot. I prefer direct communication with people. I can watch TV series – “Vikings”, “The Last Kingdom”, I review something.
– I remember our conversation after we failed to qualify for Tokyo. Did you struggle with all of this?
– It was very insulting, I lived it for a long time. Two or three months. I couldn’t get out of my head that I wasn’t selected, even though I was there for a very long time. Psychologically, it wasn’t easy, but when the new season started, it all slipped my mind. Now I’m not going back to it.
– Was this the first adult test?
– It’s serious, yes.
– They talk about you for a long time as a talented athlete. Was there a time when you “caught an asterisk”?
– I had such a period – I did not notice it, like everyone else. At the age of 14-15 he won the championship in Penza – that’s cool, nifiga yourself. Then I began to do worse, they lowered me from heaven to earth, and I myself realized that it was time to remove the crown from my head, otherwise I would not go far.
– Many say that if this whole situation with the lack of international competitions continues, talented athletes will start to flee from Russia. What can you say about this?
“I’m not going to run. I’m jumping here and now, but I don’t know how this situation with international competitions will develop, and it’s hard to tell me anything.
– You have good prizes in the Russian Championship.
– I don’t know how it is in other sports, I can’t say anything about that. But it’s good that there are prizes – of which the absolute champion, before that was not the case.
– In many sports, in addition to what the federation, the sports ministry gives, there are expenses for oneself, personal. Someone buys better pedals for a bike, someone additionally sews costumes. Do you have a personal expense?
– They give us everything. Cloths, bathing suits, uniforms. And so, if we buy something, then it is insignificant and insignificant – jumping ropes, wax … We do not have large expenses, as in some other types.
– Why can you steal from the coach?
– My trainer is strict, but good. The jump did not work – she was upset, I was also dissatisfied. I figured out where I went wrong and fixed it.
– Not on the diet? Does it limit social networks?
No, I do everything myself. At competitions – the ultimate goal. Worked for a week, and then you already feel more free.
