Skier Veronica Stepanova admitted that she was happy to keep her word and win the mass start at the sixth stage of the Alfa-Bank Russian Cup in Tyumen.

Before the race, Stepanova addressed her competitors and announced that she would win the mass start. On Sunday, Elizaveta Pantrina took second place, while third place was taken by Tatyana Sorina.

– It’s nice to keep your word. You can say I made a prediction and it came true, like Muhammad Ali said. I hope the public enjoyed it and we will attract more and more people to this wonderful sport.

Today I was “running in a carriage”, I tried to run away, but it didn’t work. Then I decided to tactically extend the distance. The coach gave me information about the route, but I decided not to wait and took the initiative into my own hands. “I feel good,” Stepanova said on .

Later on Sunday there will be a 15 kilometer men’s mass start. Watch the live broadcast from 10:00 (Moscow time) on the channel, matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru sites.
