“I was almost not upset.” Skier Ustyugov finished in 26th place in the mass start in the Kyrgyz Republic in Tyumen

2022 Olympic relay champion Sergei Ustyugov admitted that he liked his performance in the mass start at the sixth stage of the Alfa-Bank Russian Cup in cross-country skiing in Tyumen, where he showed the 26th result.

Alexander Bolshunov won the race.

— The race was interesting, fast, cool. I like this. I couldn’t force myself to work at my maximum. There is a sort of threshold, my maximum heart rate was 197.

Now I’m going to look at the calendar to see how it all went. The track is quite difficult, so to speak, powerful in nature. It was a bit difficult to walk and jump uphill.

Everything is fine, I was almost not upset, I wanted to be in the top 10, but I am happy that I came 26th and lost about a minute back and forth,” Ustyugov said in a video on the Telegram channel.

The next departure of skiers will be the Spartakiad of the Strongest, which will be held from February 9 to 18 in five regions of Russia: Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk and Tyumen regions, Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk territories. Competitions will take place in 16 Olympic sports.

On February 9, from 08:35 (Moscow time), watch live broadcast of the Spartakiad cross-country skiing competitions on the channel, matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru sites.
