“Sometimes life can be tough, but the victories pale in comparison to what happened on Sunday. Keegan Kirby, one of our best and hardest-working students, died while running.” , Nicholls wrote on his social media page.
During the race, the jockey’s horse went over the fence at one point, causing Kirby to fall. The doctors who arrived on the scene tried to save the athlete’s life, but they were unsuccessful. Keegan ultimately died from his injuries.
