Compared to the start of the season, Shakhtar lost its roster value, Polesie’s roster almost doubled

Despite large-scale winter purchases, the Miners lost a quarter of the value of their summer roster, UPL as a whole – more than 15%

Taking into account the summer transfer window, the Donetsk team’s expenses are completely amounted to more than 36 million. By comparison, the remaining 15 Premier League clubs have spent around £7.2 million on transfers so far and £2,250 million during the winter transfer window, according to Transfermarkt. But if you evaluate the roster with which Shakhtar started the 2023/2024 season, it turns out that the Donetsk club lost 25% in the value of its roster.

As of July 15, 2023 (the UPL championship started on July 28), Transfermarkt estimated the cost of Shakhtar’s squad to be more than at 163 million eurosas of now – 121.8 million. At the same time, the most significant transfer for the Donetsk team was sale of Anatoly Trubin to Benfica (10 million euros) and formally Tete leaving for Galatasaray as a free agent.

However, even with this indicator, the Miners are the undisputed leader of the UPL. For example, the cost of the Dynamo squad is estimated at 52.5 million euros, and the white-blue roster has dropped in price by almost 30%. At the same time, the white and blue earned 1.2 million from the transfers of Sidorchuk and Lednev.

The leader in reducing the cost of the squad is Dnepr-1: the Dnepr squad “fell in price” by 48% compared to the beginning of the season: from almost 39 million euros to 20 million. The Dnepr club received almost 8 million for the transfers of Dovbik and Nazarenko.

In general, six clubs are still in the red: in addition to Shakhtar, Dynamo and Dnepr-1, these are Vorskla, Minai and Zarya.

10 clubs increased the value of their rosters. The greatest progress is in Polesie (82.5% – from 8.28 million to 15.1), Krivbass (63.7% – from 7.3 million to 11.95 million) and Rukh (44.8% – from 8. 43 million to 12.2).

Note that the total market value of all UPL clubs compared to the beginning of the season fell by almost 16%: from 379 million euros to 320 million.
