The hockey players of the capital’s club, protesting against the refereeing decisions, left the site without permission, and the match was not completed
Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Ukrainian Hockey Federation (FHU) ruled on the controversial February 3 match between Kyiv Capitals And Dnieperwhich was not completed.
Let us remind you that then, with the score 2:2, the match was interrupted in the 51st minute. Hockey players of the Kyiv club left the site in protest against the decisions of the referees of the meeting, including the main referee of the game Andrey Kichi. The Capitals players and coaching staff disagree with the referee’s decision to eject Pavel Taran (at the end of the first period) and Sergei Chernenko (in the third period) for the rest of the match.
The FHU FCC, having studied the case materials, decided:
- count the HC Kyiv Capitals as a technical defeat;
- disqualify Pavel Taran for three matches and one additional match with the right to pay compensation;
- disqualify Sergei Chernenko for two matches and one additional match with the right to pay compensation;
- fine the Kyiv Capitals 40,000 hryvnia (of which 30 thousand for unsportsmanlike behavior of players and coaches).
It is also notified that in case of repeated refusal to host the match, the capital team will be automatically excluded from the participation in the championship.
Having received three points for a technical victory, Dnepr overtook the Kiev team in the table and came out in third place. The Kherson team is three points behind Kremenchug, with two games in hand.
