Slovenian Olympic champion Roglic has withdrawn from the Tour de France

Slovenian rider from the Jumbo-Visma team Primoz Roglic withdrew from the remaining stages of the Tour de France.

After 14 stages, Roglic took 21st place in the general classification. The leader of the “general” is the Slovenian’s teammate, the Dane Jonas Vingegor.

– In order for my wounds to heal properly, we have decided that today I will not start. I am proud of my contribution to the team’s current position and believe that we will achieve our ambitions of the yellow and green leader’s jerseys. Thank you all for your great support,” Roglic said, as quoted by the Jumbo-Visma Twitter page.

The Tour de France will end on July 24.
