Ice dancing competitors Ekaterina Rybakova and Ivan Makhnonosov admitted that they did not expect such scores in rhythm dancing at the Russian junior championship in Saransk.
The duo takes intermediate first place, after receiving 75.68 points from the judges for Tuesday’s rhythm dance.
Rybakova: Thank you very much to all our coaches. This season we have more responsibilities. We didn’t expect such scores, we just wanted to show the best.
Makhnonosov: We are already thinking about tomorrow. We made mistakes we shouldn’t have made. They did not notice any difference between the old Czech Republic and this one. We always do our best. Why have things improved? Well, we definitely experienced some metamorphoses this year,” reports the correspondent, reporting the skaters’ words.
The athletes will perform their free dance on February 8.
