Athletistic / Figure skating. The explanatory memorandum of the verdict of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in the case of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva contains interesting information about the words of the athlete’s coach Eteri Tutberidze. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), as noted in the CAS documents, could use Tutberidze’s interview with journalist Vladimir Pozner to prove Valieva’s guilt.

In an interview, Tutberidze confirmed that Russian athletes were given meldonium to restore and support the heart muscle. After the drug was banned in 2016, as Tutberidze explains, trimetazidine began to be used in Russia. This is what was observed during the figure skater’s doping control.

Vaitsekhovskaya responded to the publication of the motivational part of the Valieva case

Recall that Valieva had already been disqualified for four years for violating anti-doping rules. As a result, the Russian team was deprived of gold medals at the team championship of the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing (China).
