Olympic figure skating champion Roman Kostomarov published a post on the Telegram channel on the occasion of his birthday.
On February 8, Kostomarov turned 47 years old. The athlete posted a video from the station, accompanied by a song by the band from the Gaza Strip.

In early 2023, the skater was hospitalized due to complications from pneumonia. The 46-year-old athlete began suffering from tissue necrosis and underwent several limb amputations. Kostomarov then underwent prosthetic surgery, and in December he returned to ice skating in Ilya Averbukh’s show.
Kostomarov, together with Tatyana Navka, won gold at the 2006 Olympics in Turin, also became world champion twice and won the European Championships three times.
