“It was very difficult to compete” – Bobrova about the Sochi Olympics

2014 Olympic champion in the team tournament Ekaterina Bobrova playing in tandem with Dmitry Soloviev said it was not easy for her to participate in the Sochi Games.

— Of course, it was very difficult to participate in the competition, despite the fact that I have a huge experience, including the Olympic Games. But every Olympic Games is incomparable. When you go out on the ice, you are always overwhelmed with emotions, no matter how adamant your character is. I was lucky enough to do ice dancing and have a partner next to me holding my hand. I knew that Dimka was my support that I could hold on to.

We performed the rhythm dance well, then started cheering for our teammates. The last to play were Lena Ilinykh and Nikita Katsalapov, so we were already far ahead of other teams and understood that no matter how the guys skated, we would always be first. But we still didn’t realize that we were Olympic champions. I remember the moment when we were going to the awards ceremony and with a sparkle in her eyes, Lena Ilyinykh rushes up to me and shouts to the whole rink: “Katya, can you imagine, we are Olympic champions! Even then, such an understanding did not exist,” Bobrova said on “Championship.”
