“Some judges insist on seeing the wrong edge or under-rotation, when someone else has the exact same edges and the under-rotations go unnoticed. Doesn’t it make sense that the rules are the same for everything? the world? It turns out the one with the straightest and more weight. The performance of the athlete, the quality of his skating become secondary,” Rudkovskaya said.
Yana Rudkovskaya’s husband, Evgeni Plushenko, is the general director and head coach of the Angela Plushenko figure skating academy, founded in 2017. Among the students of Plushenko’s Angels are Sofia Muravyova, Veronika Zhilina, Sofia Titova, Kirill Sarnovsky, Nikita Sarnovsky, Sofia Sarnovskaya and many other figure skaters.
Previously, well-known figure skaters Adelina Sotnikova, Alexandra Trusova and Alena Kostornaya trained at the Plushenko Academy.
