Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin launched the All-Russian mass ski race “Ski Track of Russia”.
This year, “Russian Ski Track” is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade. Around 1.5 million people are expected to take part in the Russian ski course. Children from 9 to 18 years old will cover a distance of 5 km, adults – 10 km.
— I am particularly happy to see the children and families, it means that Russia lives on sport. “Sport helps us cope with difficulties and make our country even more stable and stronger,” Matytsin said at the opening ceremony.
In Chelyabinsk, the event takes place at the stadium of the athletics complex that bears his name. Elena Elesina.
