Figure skater Elena Kostyleva told that she is currently learning the triple axel.
At the end of January, the 12-year-old athlete competed for Alexander Gallyamov’s team at the Russian Show Jumping Championship. In the final of the competition, Kostyleva had to perform a five-jump stunt. When performing the first element, the skater fell and injured her right hand, after which she went to the board and received help – they froze the injury site. After that, she tried to do the stunt again, but fell again and left the ice in tears.
— Now my health is good. I didn’t think about inserting a cascade of two quads into the free skate. At the moment I’m working more on the triple axel. Let’s see if we can fit it into the program. The next start is the Russian Junior Championship,” Kostyleva told .
Kostyleva is the winner of the Russian figure skating championship among junior athletes.
