Former figure skater and coach Brian Orser received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 ISU Skating Awards, the ISU press service reported.
The Canadian is a two-time Olympic silver medalist and world champion in 1987. In 1988, he had the honor of carrying the Canadian flag at the opening of the Olympic Games in Calgary.
From 2018 to 2020, Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva, who won bronze at the 2019 World Championships, trained under Orser.
Since 2009, the Canadian has been inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame.
