Ukrainian Protsenko won bronze at the World Championships in Athletics

The first medal of Ukraine in Eugene

Ukrainian Andrey Protsenko conquered bronze in the high jump World Cup 2022 in athletics in the American Eugene.

The 34-year-old track and field athlete cleared 2.33 meters on his first attempt, which was enough to take third place. Protsenko was ahead of Gianmarco Tamberi in the number of attempts.

For Protsenko, this is the first medal of the world outdoor championship in his career. Andrey is the silver medalist of the 2014 World Indoor Championships.

Mutaz Barshim from Qatar (2.37) became the champion, Wu San Hyuk from Korea (2.35) won the silver medal.

It should be noted that Protsenko’s medal was the first for the Ukrainian team at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene.
