“Russia has big tournaments, luxurious arenas, prize money, good living conditions” – coach Davydenko

Coach Kirill Davydenko, in a conversation with a correspondent, said that Russian figure skating provides excellent working conditions.

Early last year, the ISU confirmed the suspension of Russian athletes from competitions under the auspices of the organization. This decision was made in 2022 in the context of the situation in Ukraine.

— Adults of course think of international competitions. Do you communicate with juniors on these topics?

– What to talk about? We do not participate in it.

“Don’t kids ask questions about this?”

– I will answer in the same way as in the news. I have no information on when we will be admitted. Why shake the air?

I am convinced that those who love their work will make it to the end. And if you truly love, you will give of yourself, believe in the best.

Additionally, Russia offers great tournaments, luxurious arenas, prize money and good living conditions. And the competition is very strong.

— Perhaps you can motivate the athlete with the theme of international tournaments.

— I look for stimulation in the tangible, in what can be felt. We’re talking about the Olympics, but to get there you first have to go through everything here. Believe me, Russia is now world class.

— Your student Ivan Ramzenkov hopes to compete in the 2030 Olympics. Which Games do you think current juniors will be able to compete in?

— I don’t know, I would like to participate in the world junior tournaments now. We want a lot, but we live and adapt to current conditions. You need to compare your wishes with reality, then it will be a sober and sensible view,” Davydenko told .
