Maguchy: Lasitskene does not understand that Russia invaded Ukraine

Russian athlete practically did not react to the war in Ukraine

Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslav Maguchy reacted to the removal of Russian and Belarusian athletes from world and European competitions

Yaroslava also expressed her opinion about the complaint of the Russian woman Maria Lasitskene to the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach.

“We don’t talk anymore. After February 24, everything changed. None of them wrote anything – everyone was silent.

“They said it was not their problem. They don’t understand that this is a Russian invasion of my country, Ukraine. They say, “We can’t do anything.” But in reality, they can say and do whatever they want.”

“Maria Lasitskene wrote a letter to Thomas Bach only after three months of the war. And that’s all she did.”

Recall that the World Athletics Council imposed sanctions against the member federations of Russia and Belarus in connection with the invasion of Ukraine.

Early on the morning of February 24, Russia launched rocket attacks on Ukrainian cities, and then launched a large-scale invasion. The war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine continues for the 146th day.
