Figure skater Sofia Kachushkina told that their dance duet with Marc Volkov will not perform at the Spartakiad of the Strongest Ekaterina Mironova And Evgenia Ustenko .
On Wednesday, the St. Petersburg Figure Skating Federation announced that Mironova and Ustenko would not participate in the Spartakiad of the Strongest due to their partner’s health.
According to the competition rules, no more than 10 duets will participate in ice dancing. The preliminary list of participants includes 9 couples, not including Mironova and Ustenko. Kachushkina and Volkov occupy 11th place in the rankings based on their performances on the Grand Prix stages.
“No, we will not participate in these competitions,” Kachushkina told .
Kachushkina and Volkov took 10th place at the last Russian Championship.
The figure skating tournament as part of the Spartakiad will be held in Magnitogorsk from February 16 to 18.
