“It was unpleasant to start over.” Vlasov spoke about the stage of the Tour de France, interrupted because of environmental activists

Russian cyclist BORA-Hansgrohe Alexander Vlasov admitted that he did not immediately understand why the race was interrupted at one of the Tour de France stages.

The reason for this was the action of eco-activists on one of the stages of the second week of the Tour. They stuck to the road.

“I didn’t even understand what was going on. Then we were told over the radio what had happened. This hasn’t happened to me yet. It was unpleasant, of course, to start again,” Vlasov told .

He also noted that the first two weeks of the Tour, with the exception of the start stages in Denmark, were very hot. At the stage with the arrival in Carcassonne, the temperature reached +40 degrees. Many runners criticized the conditions, noting that in other sports the competition would certainly have been canceled. Tour de France organizer ASO confirmed the track was wet but denied that 10,000 liters of water was wasted.

“The road was wet, but only in places,” Vlasov said. – I also paid attention to this – why are we riding in the wet? But then I saw the news – the road was watered.
