Russian swimming championship medalist Igor Golovin has been disqualified for violating anti-doping rules, according to the website of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).
Boldenone and its metabolite, a metabolite of stanozolol, were found in 34-year-old Golovin’s sample. The athlete’s suspension will end in January 2029.
Golovin is a medalist at the 2014 World Cup and Russian Championships in the 50 meter breaststroke.
Additionally, weightlifters Georg Datiev and Khusen Barakhoev were disqualified for four years for the presence of banned substances in their samples (both until January 9, 2026).
