Six-time Olympic champion and former Scottish track cyclist Chris Hoy announced on social media that he was diagnosed with cancer last year.
— Last year I was diagnosed with cancer and I was completely shocked by the news, as I had no symptoms. For the moment, I continue to undergo treatment which includes chemotherapy. Everything is fine. “I would like to express my deep gratitude for the support provided,” Hoy wrote on his social network page.
Hoy has won the world championships 11 times.
