Vice President of the Russian Water Polo Federation Oleg Zholobov, in a conversation with a correspondent, admitted that he was happy for Konstantin Kharkov, who won the World Championships in Doha within of the Croatian national team.
Kharkov changed his sports citizenship in 2021. The 26-year-old water polo player is also the 2022 European champion.
“He has gained experience and is playing in a decidedly stronger championship. They have the Adriatic League, where strong teams play. And we are now in political isolation. He became world champion! Achieved high results with the national team. I sincerely congratulate you. If I get the chance I will call you, congratulations. We’re not super friends, but I played water polo with his dad, kudos to Dad. Well done man, I’m sincerely happy for him.
His next goal is the Olympics. In our sport, this is the main height. It’s a great goal for him. The Croatians won the World Cup, but this can be both a plus and a minus. I will support him and worry about his victory,” Zholobov told .
