The events occurred Monday evening. As reported, emergency services were quickly called to the scene of the incident, the necessary emergency work is underway, there is no threat to the health and life of athletes and staff of the base.
“The Russian Sports Ministry and the base leadership are keeping the situation under operational control; once all the circumstances of the incident have been clarified, appropriate measures will be taken,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Novogorsk training center is the main base for preparing Russian national teams for international competitions and can simultaneously accommodate more than 500 athletes, coaches, specialists and doctors of the country’s national teams.
