The Ukrainian team played without one of their leaders sdy
Ukrainian esports organization Monte played the first matches in Group B of the European RMR tournament To PGL Major Copenhagen 2024.
In the opening match Monte faced ECSTATIC and were defeated (Anubis – 9:13). In the second match, the Ukrainian team won Nexus Gaming (Mirage – 13:9).
Monte will play their next match on Tuesday. Let us remind you that in order to directly qualify for the major, a team needs to win three matches.
Let us note that today Monte played without one of their leaders, Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev, who was not allowed by the organizers to participate in the matches due to illness. Perhaps he can help the team tomorrow. Instead of sdy, 19-year-old Jack “Gizmy” von Spreckelsen played for the MONTE GEN academy.
Earlier, the Ukrainian organization Natus Vincere overcame the RMR tournament and reached the major in Denmark.
PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 is the first ever CS2 major. The tournament will take place in the capital of Denmark on March 17-31. The prize fund is $1,250,000.
Monte clinched a victory against NEXUS in a closely contested Mirage, evening their RMR score to 1-1.
