Russian swimmers should take part in the Paris Paralympics, says Svishchev

Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Physical Culture and Sports Dmitry Svishchev told that Russian swimmers are expected to compete in the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris.

On Tuesday, the head coach of the Russian Paralympic swimming team, Yuri Nazarenko, told that the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) had granted Russian athletes 42 quotas to participate in swimming competitions at the Paralympics.

— I think our Paralympians should go to the Paralympic Games. The guys were preparing, but the trip is everyone’s choice. Everyone has their position, their opinion must be respected. Some think they have to go, others think that given the restrictions it is unacceptable,” Svishchev told .

The Paralympic Games will be held in the French capital from August 28 to September 8.
