State Duma deputy and Olympic champion Svetlana Zhurova told that the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) could allocate a full quota to Russian swimmers to participate in the Paris Paralympics.
Earlier, the head coach of the Russian Paralympic team, Yuri Nazarenko, told that the International Paralympic Committee had planned 21 men’s and 21 women’s quotas for swimmers to participate in the Paris Paralympics.
— You must understand that 42 quotas do not constitute a full team. The International Paralympic Committee could give our swimmers a full quota, but we must understand that this will unfortunately not happen. The question now is whether our guys will go. Not the whole team goes, but they go – such a situation. I don’t even know if this is good news for our sport or not,” Zhurova told .
The Paris Paralympic Games are scheduled from August 28 to September 8.
