Croatian midfielder played under the guidance of a coach for Dnipro-1
Shakhtar head coach Igor Jovićević commented on the signing of the Croatian midfielder Nevena Jurasek, who signed a two-year contract with the Donetsk club. According to him, he is well acquainted with the capabilities of his compatriot.
“He is a very mature person for his age, emotionally stable, able to show his best qualities in difficult conditions. When the outcome of a match is decided on the football field, he can take the initiative and add seriousness to the team. Off the field, Neven also showed his maturity, calmness and rationality when we were in the country in the early days of Russian aggression against Ukraine. This demonstrates that he can be counted on as a person.
As a player, I also know him for a long time, because we spent some time in the doubles of Dinamo Zagreb. Then Neven trained in a mixed mode, joining the first team, in which there is always great competition and strong performers. He got game tone in the double and then, after a few loan spells, reached almost 100 top-flight appearances, which is a glaring record. His career period in Dnipro-1 is also successful, he showed the whole of Ukraine that we have acquired a good performer. I think Neven is one of the best UPL players in his position.
Its characteristics fit my game model. He is useful in building up an attack, as this player is strong on the ball, he takes positions well and can make decisions quickly and correctly. Neven is also sharp and dynamic off the ball, he is “biting”, also Jurasek is a team player. In this Miner, Neven will always be in the rotation and will bring a lot of benefits.
Recall that last season the Croatian played on loan for Dnipro-1. Neven joined the Ukrainian club in the summer of 2021, having since played in 19 matches for the team in all competitions (2 assists). It was under the guidance of the Croatian mentor that Djurasek played for Dnepr-1.
The start of the new season of the Ukrainian Premier League is scheduled for August 23.
