Riznyk: Every Ukrainian in such matches has maximum motivation

Goalkeeper Shakhtar Dmitry Riznyk commented on the upcoming match with Marseille in the 1/16 finals Europa League 2023/24.

“We conducted a theoretical lesson, saw our shortcomings and corrected them during training. What were you working on? Let’s probably talk about this in more detail after the game.”

“This is very good news for us that people will come to football stadiums. For Ukrainian football, I think this is very important to maintain the rhythm. And as for the Marseille fans, we know that the fans here are very passionate, so all the guys are ready for this.”

“We need to ask the coaches more about Marseille’s new tactics, because the coach has really changed and it is not clear how the opponent will play. But we prepared as standard, didn’t change anything fundamentally, worked on what we needed.”

“It’s very bad that we are tied to such a date, February 24, but, of course, for every Ukrainian who represents the country abroad in various competitions, this is the maximum motivation for dedication. So, yes, it’s motivating to win.”

It was previously reported that 62 thousand tickets have already been sold for the match between Shakhtar and Marseille at the Stade de Marseille. The match will be the third most attended in the history of Olympic in European competition.
