Kryvtsov: It takes a week or two to adapt, and then it will be easier

The defender returned to the Pitmen’s general group

Central defender Shakhtar Sergei Krivtsov spoke about his return to the general group of the team. The player missed almost six months due to injury.

» I missed almost half a year and I am very glad to return to the general group. I really missed the guys and playing football. Recovery took about three months, and due to the current situation there were problems. It’s good that everything is over, we need to move on.

I missed a lot, also for a long time the leg was in a cast, the ligaments of the ankle atrophied. It was necessary to perform certain exercises to strengthen the ligaments and move forward.

There is some discomfort, but doctors say that this is normal. It takes a week or two to adapt, and then it will be easier, ”said Krivtsov.

Recall that due to an injury, the 31-year-old football player missed the matches of the Ukrainian national team in the playoffs of the selection for the 2022 World Cup and the new draw of the League of Nations.

Last season, Kryvtsov played 13 matches for Shakhtar in all competitions, in which he scored two assists.

The last UPL draw was ended ahead of schedule due to the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine. Shakhtar ended the season in first place and advanced to the Champions League group stage.

The start of the new season of the Ukrainian Premier League is tentatively scheduled for August 23.
