The opening ceremony of the competition took place the day before, February 21, in Kazan. Valieva herself was present at the ceremony, seated next to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Sport has been and remains a big part of my life, and I am happy to see that such attention is being paid to its development in our country!
I attended the opening of the Future Games, a new international tournament in phygital style, a mix of familiar sports and virtual reality.
We are the first country to organize such an international tournament, and this is a huge merit of our president, I am extremely grateful to him,” Valieva wrote on her Telegram channel.
