Athletistic/ Figure skating. Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova spoke about the change in citizenship of athletes.
“Citizenship is usually changed by those who cannot qualify for the national team. I can’t say that this is a problem for Russian sport,” Tarasova told RB Sport.
Earlier, 17-year-old figure skater Sofya Samodelkina expressed a desire to compete for the Kazakhstan national team.
Before that, Diana Davis, the daughter of famous coach Eteri Tutberidze, began to represent Georgia in tournaments.
Russian figure skaters have been suspended from international tournaments since February 2022.
