Stupak said she had a warm relationship with Vyalbe

Olympic cross-country ski champion Yulia Stupak said she has no conflict with Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) President Elena Vyalbe.

After the classic Spartakiad of the Strongest sprint in Tyumen, Vyalbe said that Stupak, who took sixth place, had big head problems. In his opinion, if the athlete does not correct them, this season will be his last. The athlete replied that she was not offended by Vyalbe’s words.

— We have absolutely warm relations. And that’s an understatement: we adore each other. And there is no point in discussing it, because I know precisely his attitude towards me thanks to her. She personally knows my attitude towards Elena Valerievna. Everything else – what surrounds us – definitely doesn’t interest me. I can understand her as a leader: she wants athletes to run for a long time, and it is desirable that they be motivated and maintain excellent results. I understand it perfectly and there are no questions. I agree with her. I also agree with the phrase that I have to make up my mind.

A lot of people see that we have a great relationship. I trust this man so much, I can trust very few others like this.

—Have you discussed this situation separately?

– Of course, but behind closed doors. And it will stay between us.

– Maybe you can reveal a few minimal words?

– Minimal words and she has already spoken. Elena Valerievna said that she considered my potential fulfilled, more or less half. That is, what was given to me by nature from above, I have not yet revealed. And in this regard I agree with her,” Stupak said as quoted by Sport24.

Stupak is 29 years old and won gold at the 2022 Olympics in the relay.
