Former UFC world champion Francis Ngannou will fight against the winner of the match Renan Ferreira With Ryan Bader V Professional Fighters League (PFL).
“The PFL is pleased to announce the return of Francis Ngannou to MMA. The PPV bout will pit PFL champion Renan Ferreira against Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader in a super fight. Francis is a true combat sports icon with a worldwide fan base and appeal. We, along with the entire MMA world, will be watching to see who his first opponent will be: Ferreira or Bader,” said PFL CEO Peter Murray.
Ngannou signed a contract with the PFL in the summer of 2023. Note that the date of Francis’ first match in the league has not yet been determined.
The Congolese will fight next on March 8 under boxing rules against former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua. The fight will take place in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
Ngannou lost a decision to WBC champion Tyson Fury in his only boxing fight. The Cameroonian made a good impression against the current champion title holder, knocking down the “Gypsy King” and inflicting several cuts on the Briton.
