Vladislav improved his own achievement by three positions
Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladislav Geraskevich took tenth place at World Championship 2024which takes place in Winterberg, Germany.
For the first time, Ukraine was represented by two athletes at the world championship. 16-year-old Yaroslav Lavrenyuk finished his performance after three races in 27th place. Whereas Geraskevich, even on the first day of the competition, after two attempts, indicated the fight for the top 10.
In the third and fourth races, Vladislav showed the 11th result and took the final tenth place. German Christopher Grother became the world champion for the third time, Matt Weston from Great Britain took second place, and Zhen Yin from China took third place.
Geraskevich’s tenth place at the World Championships – best result in the history of Ukraine. Vladislav improved his own personal and national records by three positions. Geraskevich set the previous record (13th place) at the 2021 World Cup, and then repeated it in 2023.
For Geraskevich this is the second top-10 finish this season at the world level. Previously, Vladislav took sixth place at the World Cup in Yanqing.
